Last but not least, one of the notable exhibitors this year at the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show is the Parisian gallery “Boccara.” Art dealer Didier Marien has brought an impressive collection of tapestries ranging from antique to contemporary. They are unique because “there is not [sic] so many on the market, it’s museum quality,” says Marien. He likes to mix different epochs and styles. Thus, the Renaissance piece “Le repas de Psyché” (Dinner of Psyche) was part of the royal collection of Louis XIV. Among the featured modern artists are Wassily Kandinsky, Sonia Delaunay, Jean Lurçat and Victor Vasarely. In addition, Boccara represents contemporary sculpture and mixed media objects.
