Estefania Velez Rodriguez | Praxis Gallery

Thursday night is when Chelsea galleries used to have openings (pre-covid). I was curious to see if anything changed. The city is very much alive, and it's great to discover something new! What impressed me about this gallery is that it's owned by a collective of women and represents many female artists, especially Latin American artists based in New York. All I had was my📱 (the video is shot without camera 🎥 or 🎤). On July 15, they hosted an opening reception for Estefania Velez Rodriguez, a Puerto Rican artist from Brooklyn. Special thanks to Justina Gómez Romero, who talked about the history and mission of the gallery. The exhibition is on view until September 11, 2021.

Palm Beach Show 2021

Despite unique challenges the 18th Annual Palm Beach Show is live and in-person this year. The event is a bit smaller but well attended, with safety protocols in place. A few highlights – a rediscovered painting by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, a rare Stradivarius, the most expensive COVID mask in the world, and a Paraiba tourmaline necklace. Old friends, new friends, and so much more... The show runs February 11 - 16, 2021.
