On April 27, 2021, a prominent New York society photographer, Annie Watt, had her first Palm Beach retrospective “Impromptu Portraits, a Distinguished Decade.” The party was held at the Colony Hotel, and was co-hosted by Eleanora Kennedy, Jean Shafiroff, Janet Levy, Christine Schott and George Ledes, Doug Evans and Mikolaj Bauer, Robert Caravaggi, and Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall. It was a token of love and appreciation from her friends, 200 strong and counting. Coincidentally, Annie was featured in the inaugural issue of the “Metropolitan Palm Beach” magazine.

On Sunday, April 25, 2021, "Cars and Coffee" is hosting its monthly car racing event. Elaine Larsen, a two-time world champion dragster driver, is here to license Josette Roach. Her crew chief, Loghan Ashline, is an integral part of this female dragster team. She is next in line. "It's about girl power," says Larsen.
SuperCar Week 2021 | West Palm Beach
Sunday, April 18, 2021 is the grand finale of the 11th annual SuperCar Week show. Hundreds of exotic cars are on display on the West Palm Beach Waterfront. Luxury cars, muscle cars, vintage cars, and even military carriers are all in one place. The highlight of the event for me is meeting a two-time world champion dragster driver, Elaine Larsen. She races jet cars equipped with airplane jet engine that propel her at the speed of over 300 mph. "Fear is not an option when you get into something like this," she says. Larsen is also a champion of women empowerment. She mentors young women through an internship program with the Florida Institute of Technology, providing hands-on experience with jet car racing, science, technology, and engineering.
Palm Beach Show 2021
Despite unique challenges the 18th Annual Palm Beach Show is live and in-person this year. The event is a bit smaller but well attended, with safety protocols in place. A few highlights – a rediscovered painting by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, a rare Stradivarius, the most expensive COVID mask in the world, and a Paraiba tourmaline necklace. Old friends, new friends, and so much more... The show runs February 11 - 16, 2021.
Exotic Expressions Exhibition | SuperCar Week
On December 17, 2020, the Palm Beach Design Showroom hosted a VIP opening preview party "Exotic Expressions, A Collaboration with SuperCar Week.” With all major art events cancelled this year, this was, probably, the first live in-person art show of the season. There was also an auxiliary pop-up display of rare and vintage cars, courtesy of Neil London, president of SUPERCAR WEEK, which is an annual Palm Beach event in January. Angelica Sua, the showroom executive director, said that the event observes all necessary Covid-19 protocols, but she says: "We want to keep art alive." The exhibition runs through January 21, 2021.
